Support Our Movement
Since September of 2023, we have been working with Mountain View Elementary School and its faculty to provide community workdays and educational workshops for the public. We work closely with the teachers and students, providing weekly garden lessons to grades pre-K through 5th, covering topics related to Earth science and Hawaiian traditional agriculture. Through this partnership with MVES, we have applied and received 2 grants that have helped us to establish a compost system and build a greenhouse nursery on the campus. One of our goals at MVES is to help them reach a level of food production that would allow for qualification of a garden-to-cafeteria program.
More recently, we have partnered with Ho'omaka Hou, an agriculturally-based alternative highschool in Kea'au. As a member of the faculty, we work closely with the teachers and students there as well, providing daily garden lessons to grades 9-12. Between the 2 campuses, we exchange lessons, plants, and community effort. One of our goals at Ho'omaka Hou is to develop and refine our educational programs and offerings.
We accept donations through the digital payment platform, Venmo, and written check. Checks can be made out to Gamsa Gardens and sent by mail to
