In 2024, we plan to be supplying food for Mountain View Elementary School's farm-to-cafeteria program as well as holding after-school gardening classes for students, their families, and the larger community of Mountain View. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to cover the cost of transforming Mountain View Elementary School into a community resource hub.  Our objective is to grow up to 12,000 lbs of free food for the community as well as offer free workshops and educational exchanges focused on food production, community resilience, and ecological restoration. We aim to create a replicable model that can be implemented within schools throughout the entire Island of Hawai’i.

Your support will help us to:

  • design and create a new compost system
  • establish a community seed bank at the school’s public library
  • develop educational workshops, classes, and literature
  • bring back the capped watershed and remediate the land/soil
  • incorporate animal husbandry & integration onto the campus and into the student experience
  • reach the standards necessary for a garden-to-cafeteria program
  • upcycle and repurpose the school’s waste (zero-waste implementation
  • provide mutual aid to unsheltered members of our community

Like the seeds we plant, any support will multiply abundantly!
